French proficiency and academic success in bilingual education: linking content-based courses and french for specific academic purposes tutorial

Description

The purpose of this project is to develop and implement a model of linked-courses that put together content-based courses (taught in French), such as History, Political Science, Sociology, and French for Spec1jic Academic Purposes (FSAP) tutorials, for native and non-native French students. With this project, the Language Training Centre for Studies in French, the Glendon Faculty and York University maintain a leading role in eLearning, internationalization of the curriculum and Experiential Education. This innovative interdisciplinary project will enhance the quality of programs and the quality in Teaching and Student Learning at Glendon, as it will help to increase the academic success of students by supporting the improvement of reading and writing skills through disciplinary contents.
